Hi there, welcome to oscarcharlie.eu coming to you from Provence.
This website will be replaced with a new, more streamlined one towards the end of August 2010. You will find links to some of the old pages within the site that haven't been removed yet but there will always be a link back to this page so you can't get lost!
This little piece of cyberspace is where we are documenting the renovation of our house in France. You will also find a few images of our previous property in Hampstead and the surrounding area (a sort of memento page that we can look back on in a few years time), a leaving England page which has images and diary notes of our actual moving day, images of Villa San Marco in the before, during and after stages, a diary page of the work being carried out to the property, some videos of the house and, finally, a photo album.
So, to start you off on your journey around our little corner of Provence, here are some photos of our house, Villa San Marco which is located in Lorgues, about an hour west of Nice airport.....

MOST RECENT UPDATES (in chronological order).....
May 2009 to end August 2010...
Building work started on the top floor (main living area) of the house on 25 May 2009 and was useable again by 30 of October. The cabanon was a very nice place to live in for a few weeks, but it's a little small for two people and a cat for a five month camping trip!
Demolition of the ground floor of the house started on 24 June 2009. We moved back in to the ground floor on 7 December 2009 and have been living amongst the boxes and mess of a building site until now, August 2010.
January 2009...
The car entrance has been widened and brought further into the garden so cars can now get off the road when entering the grounds. A new 5.5 metre gate has been fitted but which has yet to be painted. We are planning to fit a motor on the gate so we don't have to manually open it. When that will happen, who knows!

October 2008...
The front terrace is almost finished. It just needs a coat of render, which will be done when the house itself gets refurbished. Wanna see?
